This was my first mistake, When beginning to place my objects in for my final render I placed my first house on top a ground texture. The texture I used to surround my house model was way to dark
To overcome this I placed the texture in Photoshop and lightened it up by placing a white background behind my texture, and making my texture a little transparent. This lowered the contrast between the two floor textures.

My second mistake is hardly noticeable, I did it without realizing, but was obvious and would make my final scene look much better. The logs in the first picture are in the way of the door. After receiving some feedback from one of my friends, they asked rather abruptly "Who would have logs in front their door?". After hearing this I decided to move them because if someone lived in the house they wouldn't have logs in front their house because it would be an inconvenience.
